Digital Desk: Afghanistan secured a spot in the T20 World Cup semifinals by defeating Bangladesh by eight runs in a rain-affected Super 8 match held in Kingstown on June 25th.

In a crucial match marked by frequent rain delays, Afghanistan posted 115 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Bangladesh was bowled out for 105 runs in 17.5 overs, chasing a revised target of 114 in a 19-overs-a-side contest due to the weather conditions.

This victory ended Australia's hopes of advancing further in the tournament, relying on Bangladesh's success in this game. Afghanistan will now face South Africa in the semifinals scheduled for June 27th.

Choosing to bat first after winning the toss, Afghanistan's Rahmanullah Gurbaz top-scored with 43 runs off 55 balls, while Rishab Hossain took 3 wickets for 26 runs to contain Afghanistan's innings.

In Bangladesh's innings, Litton Das remained unbeaten with a score of 54 runs off 49 balls, but it wasn't enough to guide his team to victory against Afghanistan's bowling attack led by Rashid Khan, who claimed 4 wickets for 23 runs.
