Andhra Pradesh: AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy delivers cash rewards to Indian Athlete PV Sindhu. He directed the officials to provide Rs 30 lakhs to the shuttler PV Sindhu after winning bronze in Tokyo Olympics 2020.

The reward of Rs. 30 lakhs will be awarded to the Indian athlete as per the State Sports Policy norms. Under the State Sports Policy, a bronze medalist is qualified to receive ₹30 lakhs.

PV Sindhu has met CM Jagan before leaving for her participation in Tokyo Olympic Games. The Andhra Pradesh government had approved two acres of property for setting up Badminton Academy at Visakhapatnam. 

Indian player Sindhu defeated Bing Jiao 21-13, 21-15 in the bronze

medal competition that continued 52 minutes. 

She has created history as the first lady and second player representing India to gain two back-to-back medals.

Earlier at the Rio Olympics 2016, the 26-year-old Indian shuttler won a silver medal for the nation.
