India's Manu Bhaker led a strong performance in the women's 25m pistol precision qualification round...

Digital Desk: At the Asian Games in Hangzhou on Tuesday, September 26, India got off to a strong start in the women's 25m pistol team competition. 

At the local shooting range, Manu Bhaker won the precision singles qualification, while her team—which also included Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan—took first place in the precision team qualification.

In the women's 25m pistol, Manu Bhaker shot 99, 97, and 98 in the accuracy round to finish with 294 points in the three series.

In the precision round of the women's 25m Pistol qualification, Bhaker leads the table of results with 294 points ahead of China's Sixuan Feng. Esha finished third with 292 points, while Sangwan came in 11th with 290. With 876 points, the trio's combined total has propelled India to the top-of-the-team event. China comes next with 874 points.

On Wednesday, September 27, Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh, and Rhythm Sangwan will compete in the women's 25m rapid qualifier, which will also serve as a medal event for the team. When deciding on medals, the total score at the end of the precise and quick events will be considered.

Notably, the 25m women's pistol final is to be held on Wednesday, with the top eight from the individual qualification round advancing to the medal round. India currently has Manu and Esha in the top 8, while Rhythm is expected to get some improvements quickly.
