Digital Desk: In yet another man-animal conflict, a person was killed when an elephant herd trampled him to death in the Goalpara district of Assam.

In the early hours of Thursday, the incident was reported near  Lakhipur town in the district.

According to reports, a herd of wild elephants had strayed into the neighbourhood in search of food, and after seeing locals panic and flee, the elephants became angry.

A man named Nizamuddin died as a result of the ordeal.
