Rodali has primarily participated in the heavyweight women's category of over 73 kg. She began her competitive journey at the age of 16 when she participated in Junior Nationals in 2012, and soon transitioned to Senior Nationals. 

Digital Desk: National Taekwondo 2016 Senior Gold Medalist Rodali Barua has been selected for the Target Asian Games (TAG) scheme, a new initiative under the TOP (Target Olympic Podium) initiation. This initiative aims at preparing athletes for upcoming 20th edition of Asian Games, scheduled to be held in Japan's Aichi-Nagoya.

In a remarkable achievement in the field of sports, she became the first from Guwahati to be shortlisted for the prestigious TAG scheme. 

Rodali, who began her Taekwondo journey in 2012, swiftly progressed to competitive levels after she was spotted by the coaches from the Sports Authority of India (SAI) during state championships, marking the beginning of her professional career in the sports. She was selected by those coaches to train at SAI Guwahati.  

Rodali has primarily participated in the heavyweight women's category of over 73 kg. She began her competitive journey at the age of 16 when she participated in Junior Nationals in 2012, and soon transitioned to Senior Nationals. 

She won her career's first gold medal at the Senior Nationals, held in Visakhapatnam in 2016. Last year, she secured a bronze medal at the Asian Championships, which played a crucial role in her selection for the prestigious TAG scheme.
