Digital Desk: Autorickshaw drivers, frontline workers, sanitation workers, and construction workers have been included in the list of guests for Republic Day Celebrations. They have been invited to Republic Day celebrations for the very first time. According to a senior Ministry of Defense official, a special effort has been made to provide opportunities to those who have never seen the Republic Day event. This year's Republic Day celebrations at Rajpath have been open to individuals from all walks of life. People from diverse working fields have been included in the list of guests for the Republic Day celebration.  Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the number of visitors to be substantially curtailed this year. We are looking at a range of 5000 to 8000 people, but we have not yet finalized that. Last year, 25,000 visitors had taken part in it, he added. Only double-vaccinated invitees are permitted for the sake of visitor safety. Guests are also asked to keep a six-foot distance from the cages, wear masks, and follow other Covid regulations. In the event of a closure, all attendees would be thermally inspected, and medical assistance will be accessible, he added. We are encouraging people to be a part of the celebration from home," he added. For guests to get a better view of the live acts at the event, ten giant LED screens have been constructed on either side of the Rajpath. "The celebration will begin at 10.30 am which is 30 minutes delay of its scheduled time. The delay has been done to ensure better visibility during flypast performances," he said. A band of Central Armed Police Forces will perform before the procession to create a patriotic atmosphere. "This year's flypast will feature a total of 75 aircraft to commemorate the country's 75th anniversary of independence. On Republic Day, guests will view some never-before-seen sights from the cockpits of fighter planes doing manoeuvres," he stated. The event will feature tables from 12 states and union territories, as well as nine ministries. West Bengal and Tamil Nadu's appeals to reconsider their tableaux' inclusion in the Republic Day parade have been denied. According to senior Defense Ministry officials, they have been notified of the reasons for their exclusion. The invitation cards, which were professionally prepared and sent to the invitees, were sent out. The cards contain medicinal seeds. "After the celebration, we ask attendees to display the card in a flower pot or in the garden." It has Ashwagandha, Alovera, and Amla seeds in it," he noted. Previously, universities or schools would perform a cultural dance during the festival, but this year a countrywide competition was launched to attract more artists to participate. "We held 'Bande Bharatam' competition by Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Culture. At the districts level total of 3870 artists participated, and after state, zonal, and national competition, finally, 600 artists were selected who will perform at Rajpath on Republic Day," he added. The Rajpath, which was reconstructed under Central Vista, has been opened between Vijay Chowk and India Gate for Republic Day celebrations.
