Digital Desk: How many puris can you gobble down in one go? A police constable ate 60 puris in "Bada Khana" competition organised in the Reserve Police Line of Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. Hrishikesh Rai, the chief constable of PAC, ate 60 puris.

The Bada Khana was organised on Tuesday night before the passing out parade of the recruits. The event is a long-standing custom in which recruits and workers share a meal. Those who consume the greatest quantity of puris are rewarded.

Rai, a police constable of UP Police, shattered his previous record of consuming 51 puris. A cash prize of Rs 1,000 was presented to him. Rai is claimed to have eaten 160 puris when he was younger.

Gonda Police took to Twitter to share photos and videos from the Bada Kahan event. "In the "Bada Khana" organized at Reserve Police Line Gonda, Mr. Rishikesh Rai broke his own earlier record by eating 60 puris (51 puris). #SPGonda @IPS_SantoshM honoured him with ₹ 1000 cash prizes.," Gonda Police wrote.

Amit Kumar Singh, a rookie constable, took second place after eating 48 puris.

Santosh Kumar Mishra, Superintendent of Police (SP), presented cash prizes to the competition winners.

The SP served food to the recruits under training. He also ate with them while sitting on the ground.

Mishra also appreciated the officers and employees for the successful organisation of the entire program. He said that such events should be organised regularly as they help spread cheer and laughter among the officials and recruits.
