The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a Yellow Alert for 13 districts across Assam

Data shows extremely heavy  rainfall in and around Guwahati on 20th  May, with AAU-HRS receiving 115 mm, Guwahati AWS getting 112.5 mm, Mirza recording 110 mm, and IASST-Kamrup registering 100 mm.

It is predicted that both western and southern Assam might receive even more rain, while some places may report up to 200 mm. Prolonged rainfall in Guwahati could increase flooding, disrupt the flow of vehicles, and lead to fallen trees or small landslides in certain parts of the city.
