Even with the advancement, India cannot vie with Chile.

Digital Desk: The Indian U-17 women's team was defeated 1-3 by Chile in their second match of the four-nation tournament; despite a better performance at the match.

The women's team entered this match after losing 0-7 to the Italians in their previous match.

Withstanding a slow start by both teams in the early stages, India had a chance to take an early lead through defender Naketa, whose long-ranger free-kick failed to trouble the Chileans.

However, Chile found a breakthrough in the 11th minute through Katerine Ramos, who dealt a blow to the Indians.

While the Indians attempted to recover quickly and find an equaliser, Chile doubled their lead in the 19th minute with a clinical header from Maitte. After falling behind 2-0 in the first half, India came out after the break desperate to equalise.

With an uphill task ahead of them, the Indians cut the deficit to 1-2 when a ball from Neha landed at the feet of Kajol, who skillfully headed the ball into the back of the goal in a flash.

Despite a much-needed goal, the Indians' hopes were dashed in the 67th minute when Chile's Ambar Rolino made it 3-1, putting the final nail in the coffin.

The Indians continued to attack for the rest of the game, but the Chileans emerged victorious.
