Notably, the increase in cylinder prices comes when people are already worried about the increasing petrol and diesel prices.

Digital Desk: In a new segment of harassing the common men, the government of India has increased the price of Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders by Rs 50 on Saturday (May 7). With the latest revision, the Domestic LPG cylinders will retail at Rs 999.50 in Delhi.

Notably, the increase in cylinder prices comes when people are already worried about the increasing petrol and diesel prices. And now, the increase in LPG prices will worsen the suffering of India's average man.

Earlier this month, prices for commercial LPG cylinders were raised. The price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was raised by Rs 102.50 on May 1 to Rs 2355.50, up from Rs 2253 previous. A 5-kg LPG commercial cylinder's price was also raised to Rs 655.

On April 1, the price for 19-kg commercial LPG was hiked by Rs 250 per cylinder, bringing it to Rs 2,253. On March 1, 2022, the price of commercial LPG was increased by Rs 105.

The recent spike in petrol and petroleum products prices is owing to a sharp rise in global energy costs due to the Russia-Ukraine crisis, which has caused supply concerns.
