Digital Desk: Recently, a man in Kerala organized an unusual protest to alert authorities to the growing danger posed by potholes on the highways.

There is a video online of the complete demonstration. The man is shown washing in a rain-soaked ditch while carrying a bucket, mug, soap, and a bath towel. He was also captured on camera washing his clothing in the puddle of dirty water on the highway as onlookers drove by.

Watch the video below:

The individual was named Hamza Porali by regional media. According to reports, the incident happened on Sunday morning in Kerala's Malappuram district.

The local MLA UA Latheef can also be seen in the video arriving at the location where Mr. Porali is making his first protest. The man is seen sitting in a meditative position in the pothole as the MLA's car draws near. He was also seen on camera performing a yoga stance in front of the MLA while once again standing in the center of a sizable mud pit.

Days after a guy in Kerala lost his life as a result of a pothole, the footage appeared online. Due to a pothole on the National Highway near Nedumbassery in the Ernakulam district, a 52-year-old scooter rider lost control and fell to the ground. He was then knocked over by a vehicle.

The Kerala High Court took notice of the situation and ordered the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to repair the potholes right now. The District Collectors will issue orders with regard to any road where potholes are discovered and take necessary action against the jurisdictional Engineer, contractors, or any other person who may be responsible, according to a decision by the single bench of Justice Devan Ramachandran. The District Collectors serve as the chiefs of the District Disaster Management Authorities.
