Digital Desk: On Monday, India's Lakshya Sen fell short in the bronze medal playoff, losing to Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia with scores of 21-13, 16-21, 11-21. Sen was aiming to become the first Indian male shuttler to win an Olympic medal.

Sen began the match strongly, securing the first game with a 21-13 win. In the second game, although Sen started well, Zii Jia rallied towards the end, establishing a 12-8 lead. Sen managed to equalize with four consecutive points, but a missed drop shot allowed Zii Jia to claim the second game 16-21, leveling the match 1-1.

Zii Jia carried his momentum into the third game, quickly building a 9-2 lead. Despite Sen's efforts to stage a comeback and rekindle his chances for a medal, Zii Jia consistently thwarted his attempts. Lee maintained his lead throughout and ultimately won the final game 21-11.
