The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the complete squad for the Women’s Asia Cup 2024, scheduled to take place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, starting from July 19.

Digital Desk: Assam’s wicketkeeper Uma Chetry has once again been selected to join the Team India (Senior Women) squad for the Women’s Asia Cup T20, as confirmed by the Assam Cricket Association on Saturday.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the complete squad for the Women’s Asia Cup 2024, scheduled to take place in Dambulla, Sri Lanka, starting from July 19.

Harmanpreet Kaur, who led India to victory in the Asian title two years ago, will continue to captain the team for this edition of the tournament, with Smriti Mandhana appointed as vice-captain. The squad includes two wicket-keepers, Richa Ghosh and Uma Chetry, while Shweta Sehrawat, Saika Ishaque, Tanuja Kanwer, and Meghna Singh will travel as reserves.

India, the most successful team in the tournament's history with seven titles, has been placed in Group A alongside arch-rival Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and Nepal.

The Women’s Asia Cup is scheduled to run from July 19 to 28, with all matches slated to be held at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium.
