Reportedly, the policewomen posed with Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra when she was stopped from proceeding towards Agra on Wednesday evening.
The Congress leader and the policewomen can be seen smiling, posing for a selfie in the viral photo.
Lucknow police Commissioner D.K Thakur ordered a preliminary investigation against the policewomen whether they violated the police regulations by their actions. In this regard, Commissioner Thakur will take the decision based on a report by the DCP, Central division.

On Wednesday, the Congress leader on her way to Agra to meet the family of a man who died in police custody was stopped by the Uttar Pradesh police on the outskirts of Lucknow. At that time, several policewomen approached the congress leader and were impelled to click a selfie with her.
Meanwhile, responding against the action of UP police, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra tweeted in Hindi, “I am learning that this photo has distressed Yogi ji so much that he wants to take actions against these policewomen. If taking a picture with me is crime, I should also be punished for it. It is not befitting for the government to spoil the careers of these diligent and loyal policewomen.”
Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra addressing a press conference, informed that the Congress party will distribute 40 percent of tickets to women candidates in the upcoming UP Assembly elections.
Notably, the congress party has yet to announce whether it would ally with opposition parties in the state, including the Samajwadi Party, to counter the BJP.
