Bahadur Shastri, is commemorated. Lal Bahadur Shastri was born on October 2,
1904, in Mughalsarai, Uttar Pradesh, to Sharada Prasad Srivastava and Ramdulari
Devi. Lal Bahadur Shastri led a simple life. Shastri's character is something

Shastri was appointed Minister of Railways and Transport in India's first cabinet on May 13, 1952, before becoming the third Prime Minister of independent India between 1964 and 1966. In 1959, Lal Bahadur Shastri was Minister of Commerce and Industry, and in 1961, he was Minister of Home Affairs. After Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru died in office in May 1964, he became Prime Minister in June 1964.
The following are five fascinating facts about Lal Bahadur Shastri: 1. Shastri coined the phrase "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" during the Indo-China war in 1965 when the country was facing a food grain shortage. Lal Bahadur Shastri issued the slogan to instill confidence in soldiers and to encourage farmers to increase food grain production. Throughout his life, Shastri was known for his honesty and humility. In 1966, Lal Bahadur Shastri was posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna, and a memorial Vijay Ghat in Delhi was built in his honor.
Lal Bahadur Shastri's surname is not Shastri. The bachelor's degree award 'Shastri' was presented to him at Kashi Vidya Peeth in Varanasi.
During the India-Pakistan War in 1965, when the country was facing a food shortage, Shastri withdrew his salary as Prime Minister.
Shastri played an important role in the White Revolution in making India self-sufficient in milk production. In addition, Lal Bahadur Shastri established the National Dairy Development Board and supported the Amul milk co-operative in Anand, Gujarat.
