According to Manavjit Singh Dhillon, Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna Police, all passengers were successfully evacuated and no injuries were reported.

Digital Desk: Officials said a Delhi-bound Spicejet plane with 185 passengers landed safely in Patna shortly after take-off after its left engine caught fire due to a bird strike. Locals on the ground captured video of sparks emanating from the left engine.

According to DGCA authorities, a bird strike caused fire in one of the plane's engines. The pilots then followed procedure and shut down the engine, landing safely at Patna airport, they added.

According to Manavjit Singh Dhillon, Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna Police, all passengers were successfully evacuated and no injuries were reported.


"The Delhi-bound flight had returned to Patna airport after locals noticed a fire in the aircraft and informed district and airport officials. All 185 passengers safely deboarded," said Chandrashekhar Singh, District Magistrate, Patna.
