Tokyo Olympics: Rio Olympic silver medallist, India’s medal hope, PV Sindhu won by 2 – 0 against Cheung Ngan Yi of Hong Kong and eased into the round of 16 of Women’s Singles badminton on July 28.

PV Sindhu, a 26-year-old Indian will compete in the pre-quarterfinals of the women’s single to Denmark’s world number 12 Mia Blichfeldt in the next match.

Sindhu has won multiple medals including gold in the World Championships and is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal in 2016. PV Sindhu, Number 7 in the world is the only medal hope for India in the remaining badminton tournament at the Tokyo Olympics.
