Digital Desk:  A senior doctor at the Assam Medical College and Hospital in Dibrugarh said one of the injured was hit by a bullet in the ulna of his hand, while the other suffered a bullet injury on the toe.

On Friday evening, two civilians were shot at by Army personnel in Tirap district of Arunachal Pradesh. The Army sent them to the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh for treatment.

Army sources told PTI that the incident occurred in Chasa village when two locals were attacked. Identified as Nokphya Wangdan (28) and Ramwang Wangsu (23), the pair were heading home after fishing. It was misidentified by the Army.

 

Several of the injured were shot, one in the hand and another in the toe, said a senior doctor at the hospital.

Both are currently safe, according to AMCH superintendent Dr Prasanta Dihingia.

Villagers accompanying the injured to the hospital told reporters the soldiers opened fire on the duo.
