Footprints on Water is an English film directed by Nathalia Syam that stars Assamese-born Adil Hussain, Nimisha Sajayan, Lena, and Danny Sura as the key protagonists.

Digital Desk: According to sources, Adil Hussain, an internationally recognized actor from Assam, was honoured with the Best Actor Award at the Ottawa Indian Film Festival (OIFF) in Canada for his film 'Footprints on Water'.

He received the award for his amazing performance and portrayal of his role in the critically acclaimed film.

After winning the award, the Assamese-born actor praised the festival and acknowledged the film's director, Nathalia Syam, writer Neetha Syam, and producer Mohaan Nadaar for their contributions, which led to him receiving the award for his performance.

"Decorated Assamese thespian Adil Hussain wins the Best Actor award for his strong, emphatic turn as a father on the verge of financial and family ruin in Nathalia Syam's Footprints on Water," the festival's official Twitter handle tweeted.

It should be noted that the Ottawa Indian Film Festival is the National Capital's and Eastern Canada's preeminent festival dedicated to Indian cinema and all things Indian, with its usual five-day competitive showcase of multi-genre Indian films, as well as its roster of events, special screenings, contests, Q&A sessions, and workshops. Since 2017, the Festival has been delighted to create an audience for Indian cinema and culture not just in Ottawa, but also across Canada and North America.
