Digital Desk: In its first launch of 2022, satellite communications company Bharti backed OneWeb deployed 34 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO).
OneWeb's total satellite fleet now numbers 428 in orbit, representing 66 percent of its planned 600-satellite LEO fleet that will provide low-latency, high-speed global connectivity.
From the Guiana Space Center in Kourou, French Guiana, the new satellites were launched on Thursday by an Arianespace Soyuz rocket.

Over a period of 3 hours 33 minutes, OneWeb's satellites separated from the rocket and were spread out in nine batches. After all 34 satellites were undocked, signals were acquired.
The next batch of OneWeb satellites is planned to launch from Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, on March 5 on another Soyuz rocket carrying 36 OneWeb satellites, according to the company.
