Digital Desk: Chief Minister of Punjab and Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi was defeated in the state Assembly elections in both Chamkaur Sahib and Bhadaur constituencies. In Chamkaur Sahib, Aam Aadmi Party candidate Charanjit Singh Channi defeated the Punjab Chief Minister by 6,373 votes. On the other hand, Labh Singh Ugoke of the Aam Aadmi Party won the Bhadaur seat by 36,964 votes. Notably, the Aam Aadmi Party, led by Arvind Kejriwal, is leading for a landslide victory in Punjab. By 2.30 pm on Thursday, the party had won 14 seats and held a 78-seat majority in the 117-seat Punjab Assembly. It had reached the halfway point of 59 in the early hours of the morning. Meanwhile, former Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh also lost from Patiala Urban constituency to Aam Aadmi Party candidate Ajit Pal Singh by over 13,000 votes.
