Mumbai: #ShameonBCCI trends on Twitter as fans slam BCCI and Sourav Ganguly for sacking Virat Kholi as India's One Day International (ODI) captain. The decision of BCCI to replace the Indian cricketer Virat Kohli with Rohit Sharma as the ODI captain has received mixed reactions from netizens.
Some of the netizens were posting about the rise of Rohit Sharma as inspirational. At the same time, many slammed BCCI for dismissing Kohli with a sudden post.
Fans stated that BCCI could have at least posted a "thank you" note for the former ODI captain. However, BCCI on Wednesday, without describing the reasons posted, "The All-India Senior Selection Committee also decided to name Mr Rohit Sharma as the Captain of the ODI & T20 teams going forward."

Soon after the news came out, social media platforms flooded with mixed reactions from cricket fans. Notably, fans have posted #shameonBCCI for not justifying the leadership era of Kohli and his contributions.
Virat Kohli, who took charge of the ODI team from MS Dhoni in 2017, boasts an impressive record as captain in the 50-over format with 65 wins in 95 matches.
One of the cricket fans posted, "Just came here to say... The current @BCCI, managed by a nepotism product and an ex-cricketer who can't manage shit, is the most ungrateful cricket board ever. I hope Rohit Sharma doesn't get the same treatment as Virat Kohli if he fails to bring a World Cup home."
Another user posted, "I'm totally broken after seeing how BCCI is treating ViraT Kohli He is sacked from captaincy just because all the 11 players Failed to perform in 2-3 important knockouts. Otherwise win percentage in ODI's under @imVkohli is About 70% #ShameOnYouBCCI."
